Kathmandu Metropolitan City invited applications for scholarship

Educationpatra, Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has invited applications from students who wish to study in grade 11 within the metropolis based on eligibility criteria and quota allocation to provide scholarships.

The Mayor of Kathmandu, Balan Shah, has urged students who have passed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) and aspire to study in grade 11 within the metropolitan area, and who have studied in community schools located within the metropolitan city, marginalized areas, Janajati, indigenous, and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to apply for scholarships based on eligibility criteria and quota allocation, as informed to the respective educational institutions through this notice.

“The results of the SEE conducted by the National Examination Board have been published. Students who have passed the examination and wish to study in grade 11 within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and who have studied in community schools located within the metropolitan city, marginalized areas, Janajati, indigenous, and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, are informed through this notice to apply for scholarships based on eligibility criteria and quota allocation,” mentioned Shah.

According to him, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City will independently conduct the selection process for distributing scholarships for grade 11 students of private schools within the jurisdiction of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, starting from the academic session 2080/081, as per the provisions made in the “Kathmandu Metropolitan City Education Act, 2075” and the “Education Regulation, 2074.”

The notice also informs all educational institutions to publish small-scale advertisements, specifying the dates for admission to grade 11 and the number of students admitted in the academic session 2079/080.

Due to the limited time available for submitting applications after the public announcement of the SEE results, students from remote areas of the country who wish to enroll in Kathmandu have been advised to take note of the municipality’s attention, as mentioned by Mayor Shah.

All educational institutions have been invited to determine separate admission lists for enrolling students in grade 11 and higher levels, and to publish information accordingly, considering the period of at least 15 days from the date of public disclosure of the results of the Secondary Education Examination.
