Educationpatra, Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, the publication of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) results for the academic session 2079 is in its final stage.
The National Examination Board Examination Control Office Class 10 has completed all preparations for the release of the results. The board is now focused on publishing the results within the third week of June. Dr. Mahashram Sharma, the chairman of the board, has confirmed that necessary arrangements are being made for the publication of the results.
“Our annual schedule aims to publish the results within the third week of June, and we are working accordingly,” stated Chairman Sharma. He further mentioned that after the completion of testing, checking, and verification of answer books, the results are being uploaded onto the computer system.
Chairman Sharma emphasized that even after the testing process is completed, several technical tasks remain. “Those tasks are currently in progress, including uploading the scores to the computer and registration,” he explained. As for the method of result publication, a decision has not yet been made. Chairman Sharma stated that a conclusive determination on whether to use the old letter grading system or the new one will be made in the coming days.
“At this moment, we are focused on completing all the necessary work. Once that is done, we will decide on the method of result publication. No decision has been made yet,” clarified Chairman Sharma. While the board had made arrangements for letter grading and the provision of non-grading for scores below 35 percent in SEE, this rule was halted at the last minute last year. Therefore, the basis for result publication this year is still pending.
Under the old grading system, scores of 90 to 100 are categorized as A plus, 80 to less than 90 as A, below 70 to 80 as B plus, below 60 to 70 as B, below 50 to 60 as C plus, below 40 to 50 as C, below 30 to 40 as D plus, below 20 to 30 as D, and below 20 as E. Under the new system, students scoring below 35 percent in all subjects will be designated as non-graded. In the academic session 2079, a total of 484,000 students appeared for the SEE.
