Educatinalpatra, Kathmandu. In a remarkable tale of innovation and determination, Ekta Golcha, a post-graduate from Oxford University, has taken the reins of technology and embarked on a journey to revolutionize the business and industrial sectors in Nepal. Returning to her homeland after completing her studies, Ekta had aspirations of establishing a modern industry. However, unforeseen circumstances led her down an unconventional path.
Upon her return to Nepal, Ekta Golcha found herself at the helm of Arihant Polypack Industry, her father’s venture. Despite the initial shift from her original plans, her experience in industry management provided invaluable insights that would shape her future endeavors.
Over the course of two years, Ekta’s initial desire to engage in the industrial sector began to wane. She was drawn toward a new challenge: leveraging technology to create innovative solutions for business and industry promotion. Her journey took her to Kolkata, India, where she immersed herself in the study of data science for two years. Armed with newfound knowledge, Ekta returned to Biratnagar, Nepal, ready to embark on a technological odyssey.
Ekta’s journey was not without its hurdles. She confronted the skepticism that often accompanies the introduction of novel ideas. Undeterred, she assembled a team of 35 individuals, including 10 women, who shared her vision of technological advancement. Together, they formed ‘Delta Tech,’ a team dedicated to the development of groundbreaking apps and software tailored to the needs of businesses and industries.
Among their creations, the ‘Delta Sales CRM’ app stood out as a game-changer in the commercial sector. This app streamlined sales processes, facilitating order management, customer relationship management, inventory tracking, and more. The app’s convenience and effectiveness quickly gained traction not only in Nepal but also in countries like India, Indonesia, Philippines, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Ekta’s ambition extends beyond individual apps. Her ultimate goal is to establish ‘Delta Tech’ as a global entity, solidifying Nepal’s position on the technological map. With an investment of around 20 million rupees over five years, Ekta’s determination has borne fruit, as the team continues to conceptualize and develop novel solutions.
The journey has not been without challenges. Balancing a team, sustaining an office, and nurturing continuous innovation requires dedication and resourcefulness. However, Ekta’s drive remains steadfast, resonating with the sentiments of young entrepreneurs who are pioneering change.
Ekta Golcha’s visionary strides have not gone unnoticed. Rahul Chokhani, representing PS Group Kathmandu, praised the native app for simplifying daily business operations. Users attested to the app’s efficacy, with Jayas Jain of Biratnagar citing a substantial impact on various facets of his business.
Amidst the Golcha family’s extensive involvement in industry and business, Ekta stands as a beacon of technological innovation. From the establishment of Biratnagar Jute Mill in 1993 to the sprawling Golcha Organization that followed, the family’s legacy in industrialization is undisputed. However, it’s Ekta’s divergence from the conventional path and her resolute commitment to technological transformation that set her apart.
Ekta’s journey embodies the spirit of adaptation and growth. In a world rapidly evolving with technology, she stands as a testament to the potential for innovative thinking to pave the way for progress. As Ekta continues her pursuit of technological excellence, she serves as an inspiration to young minds across Nepal and beyond, reminding them that embracing new challenges can lead to extraordinary accomplishments.
