Educationpatra, KATHMANDU. Education, Science and Technology Minister Ashok Kumar Rai has said that the bill related to the Federal Education Act will be submitted to the Parliament soon. He said that the bill submitted to the Council of Ministers on June 4 will be submitted to the Parliament as soon as it receives its approval.
While answering the questions raised by the parliamentarians on the appropriation title of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, Minister Rai also claimed that the draft of the bill contains necessary provisions for school reform.
Many dignitaries have inquired as to when the Federal Education Act will come before the House. I have already made a request to you about this. It has been registered in the Council of Ministers on June 4. Today is the 12th. I think today’s cabinet has come to that. And, as soon as the Council of Ministers gives permission, I would like to request that the Bill be registered in the Parliament.” Minister Rai said, “As soon as that Act is made, as soon as the Bill is passed by the Parliament, donor agencies can also provide sufficient support in the field of school education for quality improvement. They have given it in meetings. This Act will complete a lot of school improvement work including recruitment management, curriculum arrangement.
Minister Rai also informed the House that donor agencies have committed to provide sufficient support for the improvement of the school education sector.
Similarly, Shiksha Rai said that the budget should be increased to improve the country’s education sector. Minister Rai also expressed his commitment to make maximum use of the available budget for the improvement of the education sector.
He also asserted that the government is working with priority in improving the quality of school education, expanding the access and empowerment of technical education and making higher education research-oriented.
He said, “Without guaranteeing quality, skill-oriented and practical education to all citizens, the necessary manpower for the country cannot be supplied. The ministry has prioritized the work of improving the quality of school education, expanding access and empowerment of technical education, and making higher education research-oriented. Efforts will be made to make maximum use of the available budget for educational reforms. We also express our commitment to increase the budget for education reform.
Minister Rai also said that the government has given special priority to ensuring quality, skill-based and practical education to all citizens.
