Educationpatra, Kathmandu. The National Examination Board has taken an important decision regarding the admission of students who have secured 1.6 GPA in secondary education to class 11. The State Examination Management Office of the Board of Bagmati Province has requested to admit the students who have secured 1.6 GPA in SEE to Class 11.
The head of the office, Jayanthi Satyal, informed about this decision and requested all the educational institutions to follow the standards for new admissions. The National Curriculum Development and Evaluation Council’s meeting held on May 19 decided that students who have completed secondary education and scored a minimum of 1.6 in SEE will be eligible for admission to class 11.
The board has already prepared the criteria for the subjects that students who have secured 1.6 GPA in SEE can study. According to the board, the students can study only the subjects of the same academic category on the basis of GPA. This will facilitate the students to get admission in suitable subjects which are compatible with their academic qualifications.
After the National Examination Board announced the results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) on Thursday, the board has given information on which subjects can be studied in class 11 based on the GPA and grades obtained.
Students with a minimum GPA of 2 can also study science group subjects. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Agriculture and Animal Science are taught in Science Group. However, ‘C plus’ grade is required in Science and Mathematics.
Similarly, ‘D Plus’ grade is required in English, Nepali and Social Studies. Students who have obtained any grade in their respective subject can study the basic level of vocational subjects.
Similarly, regardless of the grade according to the subject, the students who have a minimum GPA of 1.6% can study the skill group. This includes subjects such as Animal Science, Plant Science, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Engineering.
An overall GPA of 1.6 is mandatory to study in the Faculty of Humanities and Education.
